Operational limits of optical AR tracking

AR Pilot Drill uses camera frames and surface geometry to project coordinates across structural barriers. It is a visual transit tool, not a subsurface sensor.

Critical Warning

Always execute a calibrated electronic detector sweep for live electrical cables, pressurized water pipes, and gas lines prior to full-bore penetration.

Tracking Variables

Understanding optical drift and site limits

Spatial tracking fidelity depends heavily on ambient light levels, camera stability during room transit, and precise scaling when printing target markers. Poor contrast or rapid movement can introduce minor coordinate offsets.

Always confirm alignment with a slow, shallow pilot hole inspection before deploying core drills or spade bits. The app guides your angle, but structural integrity remains entirely the responsibility of the operator.
